Water Committee Meeting
June 5,1967

Mr.Peter Van Ausdall,Lot 14,Section 8,High Drive Heights,application
for water service to serve one residence.Superintendent McCracken re
ported the main serving this area is too small to serve any additional
customers.The Committee recommends this application be rejected.
The Committee reviewed a letter from W.W.Wheeler &Associates,Water
Rights Engineers,dated May 15,1967.Mr.Wheeler advised the Town he
could not evaluate Mr.Pulliam’s water rights offer until such time as the de
tails involved are determined and provided for Mr.Wheeler’s analysis.The
Committee will further consider Mr.Pulliam’s offer when the additional in
formation is received.
Mayor Graves reported on a recent meeting of the Five-City Water Association.
This group of cities,of which Estes Park is a member,is planning to incor
porate.The main purpose of the corporation will be to plan for and obtain
water for future development.
The Water Department Accounts Receivable in the amount of $4,491.50 was re
viewed by the Committee.The Clerk was instructed to write all delinquent
urban accounts and inform them their delinquent water accounts will be cer
tified to the Larimer County Treasurer and added to their taxes if not paid
by June 20,1967.The Clerk was also instructed to inform the delinquent
rural water accounts that their water service will be shut off if the
accounts are not paid by June 20,1967.
The Water Committee recommends to the Board of Trustees that a fee of 7
per annum be charged on all unpaid water rights fees for annexation.The
Attorney has been instructed to incorporate this in the proposed amendment
to the Municipal Code.
There being no further business,the meeting adjourned.
