Water Committee Meeting

The Water Committee reviewed the delinquent water accounts that are due
to be certified to the County Treasurer on January 15,1968.
Town of Estes Park Ordinance No.330 and the District Court order annex
ing the Town of Estes Park into the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy
District on August 21,1967,provide that all back taxes ($57,444.55)to-
gether with interest at a rate of 4 per annum,be paid in not more than
ten (10)annual installments beginning with the first payment due on
January 15,1968.After considerable discussion and in conformance with
the General and Water Department budgets,the Water Committee recommends
the Board of Trustees of the Town of Estes Park pay the principal
balance plus interest to date on January 15,1968 as follows:
General Fund $28,722.28
Water Fund 29,742.11
$58,464.39
The above payment will satisfy the agreed upon payment of back taxes as
follows:
Principal balance -January 15,1968 $57,444.55
Annual interest @ 4?$2,585.00
Date of Court Order finalizing inclusion August 21,1967

=$7.08219 per day

Rev.John D.McCann submitted an application for domestic water to serve
a residence on Devils Gulch.The Committee rejected this application be
cause the water mains in this area can not serve any additional customers.
Superintendent McCracken informed the Water Committee the State Fish,
Game and Parks Department has requested water service from the Fall River
plant.They will require 250,000 gallons per day for a period of nine
months beginning September 1st to June 1st of each year.The State will
build a new fish hatchery if the Town can supply the requested water.
Superintendent McCracken was instructed to investigate this request and
report his findings at the next Committee meeting.
There being no further business,the meeting adjourned.
