Mr.Worster,Mr.Martin and Mr.Shirling submitted an application re-
questing domestic water to serve Belivue Heights and Olympus Heights
subdivisions,an area of approximately 23.82 acres. The total existing
units consist of 42 private dwellings and motel units. The potential
demand consists of an additional 18 domestic units plus approximately
2 acres of business zoned property.
After considerable discussing and consultation with the Town’s Engineer
ing Consultants, the Water Committee recommends the Board of Trustees of
the Town of Estes Park give the applicants a conditional approval on the
above request. This approval will be subject to the applicants submitt
ing a detailed plat of the proposed water distribution system and the
subsequent final approval by the Town of Estes Park.Minimum distribu
tion system requirements will be provided to the Water Department by
the Towns consulting engineers.
Mr.Walt Caldwell and Mr.Robert Kemp of Phillips,Carter,Reister and
Associates,the Town’s Water Engineers,appeared before the Committee
and reported the progress to date on the comprehensive water plan for
the Town of Estes Park.An extension of time to December 9,1968 has
been requested from the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
This request is due to the fact that the Denver offices of Phillips,
Carter,Reister and Associates were damaged extensively by fire last
July.Mr.Caidwell and Mr.Kemp reviewed the necessary items of work
needed to complete the planning study.
Water Superintendent McCracken informed the Committee that the Prospect
Park subdivision developers have requested domestic water to serve six
additional lots within this subdivision.Superintendent McCracken stated
this will require increasing the size of a considerable portion of the
existing two inch water distributing system. The Water Committee tabled
any action on this request for further study.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
Dale C.Hill,Town Clerk
