HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Water Committee 1968-09-0300 00 RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Water Committee Meeting September 3,1968 Committee:Chairman flannels;Trustees Steele and Swanson Attending:Chairman flannels;Trustee Steele Also Attending:Superintendent McCracken and Town Clerk Hill Absent:Trustee Swanson Mr.Worster,Mr.Martin and Mr.Shirling submitted an application re- questing domestic water to serve Belivue Heights and Olympus Heights subdivisions,an area of approximately 23.82 acres.The total existing units consist of 42 private dwellings and motel units.The potential demand consists of an additional 18 domestic units plus approximately 2 acres of business zoned property. After considerable discussing and consultation with the Town’s Engineer ing Consultants,the Water Committee recommends the Board of Trustees of the Town of Estes Park give the applicants a conditional approval on the above request.This approval will be subject to the applicants submitt ing a detailed plat of the proposed water distribution system and the subsequent final approval by the Town of Estes Park.Minimum distribu tion system requirements will be provided to the Water Department by the Towns consulting engineers. Mr.Walt Caldwell and Mr.Robert Kemp of Phillips,Carter,Reister and Associates,the Town’s Water Engineers,appeared before the Committee and reported the progress to date on the comprehensive water plan for the Town of Estes Park.An extension of time to December 9,1968 has been requested from the Department of Housing and Urban Development. This request is due to the fact that the Denver offices of Phillips, Carter,Reister and Associates were damaged extensively by fire last July.Mr.Caidwell and Mr.Kemp reviewed the necessary items of work needed to complete the planning study. Water Superintendent McCracken informed the Committee that the Prospect Park subdivision developers have requested domestic water to serve six additional lots within this subdivision.Superintendent McCracken stated this will require increasing the size of a considerable portion of the existing two inch water distributing system.The Water Committee tabled any action on this request for further study.
