RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS
Water Coimnittee Meeting
August 5,1968

Also Attending:Superintendent McCracken and Town Clerk Hill
Mr.Robert Bigler appeared before the Committee and submitted a request
for water to serve six one acre lots west of the Walt Howard property.
The Committee gave Mr.Bigler conditional approval and will recommend
to the Board of Trustees of the Town of Estes Park that final approval
be given upon the following conditions:
1.All six lots to be served,shall be properly platted.
2.All street right of ways be a minimum of 60 feet in width.
3.An elevation line of 7,850 feet be drawn on the plat.
The Committee recommends the Board of Trustees of the Town of Estes
Park approve the following water applications.
1.William M.Merritt,Jr.,6 unit condominium on Fall River.
2.Ralph S.Bailey,single family residence on lot 8,division
9,High Drive Heights.
The Committee recommenc the Board of Trustees of the Town of Estes Park
reject the following water application:
Walter R.Brown.Application to serve 17 residential building
sites in Range View subdivision located above the county garage.
This area is above 7,850 feet in elevation.
A letter from Mr.Jim Bissell addressed to Mayor Brodie was read to the
Committee.Mr.Bissell’s letter requests information as to the prob
ability of the Town extending its water mains further east on the Devils
Gulch road.The Clerk was instructed to write Mr.Bissell and inform
him the Town does not have plans at this time to extend the water main
in this area.
A letter from Mr.Hagemeister,dated July 6,1968,requesting considera
tion of a reduction in his water bill on his swimming poo1 was read to
the Committee.The Clerk was instructed to write Mr.Hagemeister and
inform him his request will be considered during the rate study.
The Clerk reviewed the water rights agreement between the Stanley
Properties,Inc.and the Town of Estes Park.
Superintendent McCracken informed the Committee the wiring was com
pleted in the Big Thompson plant.
The Committee will ask the engineering firm of Phillips,Carter,Reister,
Inc.for a report on the engineering study now underway.
There being no further business,the meeting adjourned.
