HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Water Committee 1970-08-03RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Water Committee Meeting August 3,1970 Committee:Chairman Dannels;Trustees Steele and Prosser Attending:Chairman Dannels;Trustees Steele and Prosser Also Attending:Superintendent McCracken,Town Administrator Hill, Business Office Manager Duncan RURAL WATER APPLICATIONS: Erwin Groover -One residential unit located on Lot 4,Block 1,Larjmer Terminals.The Committee recommends approval subject to an elevation check by the Town engineer. Joseph Doneika, Kostas Eidukonis &Aldona Eidukonis -One residential unit located in Woodland Heights and described as a part of Lot 8.The Committee recommends rejection since customer is located in Bill Grove’s Water District. Mrs.A.H.Altvater -One residential unit located on Devils Gulch andde scribed as a portion of the Altvater property.The Committee recommends approval subject to a water rights fee on the minimum zoning requirement of 2½acres. JOHN JONES WATER REQUEST: John Jones requested treated or untreated Big Thompson water for his real estate development.The Committee advised that water is not avail able above the requirement for the Town. CONMERC IAL METERING: The Committee instructed Town Administrator Hill and Superintendent McCracken to secure additional information relating to installation costs and whether or not customer should have the option of arranging for his own installation by a given date or have the Town make the arrangement for him. SIX CITY WATER: Mr.Clarence Graves gave a report on the progress of the Six City Water Committee and advised that the Subdistrict of the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District has been duly formed with officers appointed and a proposed budget submitted.The Water Committee of the Town of Estes Park has until November 1,1970,to decide whether or not they wish to continue in the organization for their proportionate allotment of approximately one-sixth (1/6th)of the available water.The cost for Estes Park for 1971 may amount to $6,000.00 or could climb to $30,000.00 should plant design begin next year.The cost of the entire project is approximately $3,000,000.00 which will be financed by Six City bonds in the amount of $1,500,000.00 and a HUE loan for $1,500,000.00.
