HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Water Committee 1971-07-06RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Water Committee Meeting July 6,1971 Committee:Chairman flannels;Trustees Steele and Prosser Attending:Chairman flannels;Trustees Steele and Prosser Also Attending:Town Administrator Hill,Superintendent McCracken, Business Office Manager Duncan,Elwood Shining and Mr.Ricketts RURAL WATER APPLICATIONS: Warner Reeser:One rural residence on Lot 5,Charles Heights Subdivision.The Committee recommends approval subject to a blue line elevation check by Town Engineer Van Horn. Paul H.Menkle:One rural residence on Lot 36,High Pines Sub division.The Cotmnittee recommmends approval. OLYMPUS-BELLVUE HEIGHTS PROPERTY OWNERS: Mr.Shirling and Mr.Ricketts appeared before the Committee requesting a renewal of the conditional approval previously granted and expired. The attachment and appendix from Mr.Shirling is made a part of these minutes.The Committee recommends conditional approval for one year from this date. MERKLE LETTER: Town Administrator Hill read,to the Committee for approval,a letter to Mr.Paul H.Merkle concerning the conditions required by the Town for customers connecting to a new four inch water extension to be in stalled by Mr.Joel Bacon in the High Pines Subdivision.The Committee approved and recommended that the letter be sent to each property owner connecting to the four inch line.A copy of this letter is attached to these proceedings. HIGH PINES WATER EXTENSION: The Committee authorized Superintendent McCracken to order the necessary four inch galvanized pipe and couplings required for 650 feet of water line at a quoted price of $1.64 per foot plus freight.Also authorized is one-half the cost of a four inch tap into an eighteen inch main amount ing to $215.00 for the Town.The total estimated cost to the Town is $1,281.00 plus freight. CHARLES HEIGHTS SUBDIVISION: Superintendent McCracken advised the Committee that the water system in the Charles Heights Subdivision is reaching its capacity and perhaps cur tailment of taps should be considered.The Committee recommends that Superintendent McCracken and Town Engirer Paul Van Horn study the situa tion and report back to the Committee at the next meeting. PARK SCHOOL DISTRICT WATER RATES: The cities of Longmont,Loveland,Fort Collins and Boulder bill school districts at the regular metered water rate.The Committee recommends tabling the Park School District request for a special water rate for additional information. (fl Water Committee Meeting July 6,1971 Page two RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS WATER BILL FOR OLD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL BUIDLING: The Committee recommends a temporary flat rate fee of one-half the mini mum annual bill for a two inch meter which is $400.00.The $200.00 fee will remain in effect until such time as the building may be sold or the use changed. HALL &ASSOCIATES REQUEST: A request to relinquish all rights to a four inch summer water line and cement storage tank of approximately 20 x 24 x 16 foot dimensions located on the west side of the Little Prospect Mountain saddle was made by Hall and Associates.The Committee recommends referring the matter to the Town Attorney for an opinion. FIAT RATE TO METERED RATE BASIS: The Committee instructed Business Office Manager Duncan to check with Rate Engineer Hoper to determine what plan may be available at this time.
