LOCATION;180 Lawn Lane Estes Park,CO.80517 DESCRIPTION OF WORK TO BE ACCOIPLISI{ED:(In the order it is to be accomplished). 1.Remove existing plexiglass roofing,supporting iron pipes and overheadsupportsandcarpetingmaterialcoveringporchdeck. 2.Install lx6 redwood decking over existing deck.(Approximately 60 sq ft). 3.Place 4th corner posts (86”high)at each corner of porch.Use 4x4 “post base”to support base of posts at front of porch,tying “post base”to 4x4 corner supportsunderexistingporch.Further support forward 4x4’s at base with 4”metal “L”bracketsaffixingwith24”lag screws.Secure rear 4th posts to exterior wall of house(tying through siding to existing studs)with 6”lag screws and two 4”“L”bracketssecuredwith24”lag screws. 4.Tie front and rear 4x4 posts at the top with 4x4 (6’long)using 6”lagscrews(countersunk)from the top.Further support each from front to rear with 4”“L”brackets secured with 24”lag screws. 5.Tie front supporting 4x4 posts across with one 10’4x4 frame,using one 6”lagscrewfromeachside,plus two 8”spikes and two 411 brackets. 6.Affix 2x8 center ridge beam approximately 36”above 4x4 frame projecting fromexistingexteriorwallofhouseinapositiontoconformtotheexistingpitchoftheroofofthehouse.Ridge beam to be centered laterally equidistant from eachsideof4x4frame. 7/Erect five sets of 2x6 rafters cut on an 8/12 pitch on approximately 18”centers,tying the ridge beam to the 4x4 end supports,allowing 2 ft.overhang on each side ofporch.Rafter next to the house to be secured through exterior wall of house tyingthroughsidingtoexistingstuds. 8.Sheet over rafters with 3/4”AC plywood using solid sheets from front to rear,in order that there are no sheets splitting rafters. 9.Cover over plywood sheeting with 430 felt secured with staples.Double feltovercrownofporchroof.Install 10”galvanized valley connecting plywood sheetingandsideofhousebeforeinstallingfelt. 10.Trim fathing and ends of rafters with 1x8. 11.Install shingles (cedar flat —medium)over felt,using nails that will notpenetratethroughbottomsideof3/4”plywood roof sheeting. 12.Install double 2x4 railing and ornamented upright supports along front and onesideofporch,tying to inside of 4x4 oosts with 4”“L”supports. 13.Install exterior ornamental ligtt to one 4x4 corner post to illuminate stepsandstreetareaimmediatelybeneathporch. 14.Install ornamental trim to face of porch from inside top of overhead raftertolongitudinal4x4,paint to compliment trim of house,stain decking and shingles. nz r2rf Fl,Ft4( iJ Q n’ E;ii:::flt uii1g uI,It.J page 2 2 May 1976 The work described above is to be accomplished by the homewwner with assistance of friends.All material to be new.A material list follows,as well as a roughsketchoftheworktobeaccomplished. !ATERIAL LIST: 1.12—lx6—l0’redwood decking 2.4—4x4 —8’fir posts 3.2 —4x4 —12’fir posts 4.2 —AB44 post bases 5.klbs —#8 CC nails 6.Zlbs —#16 box nails 7.12 —tx6 lag screws 8.36 —êx24 lag screws 9.1 —2x4 —10’pine (temporary railing) 10.12 —?x3/16 spikes 11.8 -L4.x4 “1”right angle braces 12.l—2x8—8’ 13.10 —2x6 —10’(rafters) 14.1 —2x4 —10’(temporary support and railing material) 15.5 sheets —4’xS’_3/4”AC plywood 16.4 bundles —fl red cedar shingles (aprox.one square) 17.2 —1x8 —10’@2 pine (trim) 18.2 —lxB —6’pine (trim) 19.20’—10”galvanized valley 20.48’—30#roofing felt 21.2lbs —1—1/8”shingle nails 22.2 lbs —3/4”composition (galvanized)shingle nails ESTINAT COST OF MATERIAlS:Approximately $300.
