HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Water Committee 1974-11-04CO Water Committee Meeting November 4,1974 RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Th Committee: Attending: Chairman Prosser;Trustees Dannels and Sutter Chairman Prosser;Trustee Sutter Also Attending:Town Administrator Hill,Superintendent Business Office Manager Duncan McCracken Absent: RURAL WATER APPLICATIONS: Trustee Dannels George J.Mastio,MD *A report on the capacity of this water main from the Town’s consulting engineer will be available to the Committee at the next meeting. WATER EXTENSION POLICY: One rural residence located on Devil’s Gulch Road near the Gem Lake Trailhead. The Committee Recommends tabling until determination has been made as to whether or not the Nastio house is located within Northern Colorado Conservancy District. Another consideration for tabling is that line improvements have not yet been completed by the Water Department.* Town Administrator Hill presented an ordinance which incorporates the existing water extension policy into Ordinance form.The Committee recommends adoption to the Board of Trustees. REPORT ON WATER RIGHTS: Referencing Town Attorney Hartwell’s letter dated October 23,1974,pertaining to the status of the Fall River Plant Pipeline water rights,the State Engineer’s list has been corrected. STANLEY PROPERTIES WATER LEAK ADJUSTMENT: Superintendent McCracken advised the Committee of several water leaks which occurred on the Stanley property.The Committee recommends application of the established policy for water leak adjustment. PROGRESS REPORT ON NEW MAIN CONSTRUCTION: Superintendent McCracken gave a progress report on the following new construction projects: 1.Fireplug installed at the hospital; 2.Water main near hospital nearing completion; 3.Water main connecting High Pines to Prospect Park 50%completion; 4.Water Main at Town dump 85%completion. CO RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Water Coimnittee Meeting November 4,1974 Page Two (2) BIG THOMPSON PLANT —DRAIN LINE TO GOLF COURSE: Superintendent McCracken reported that work is progressing to change the over— f low on the Big Thompson Plant decanting pond.Superintendent McCracken also reported that he has contacted the Recreation District concerning the wash water line to the golf course.Repairing the line will require about 500 feet of pipe at an approximate cost of $1,740.00 plus the cost of repair for black topping where a street cut will be required.The Committee authorizes the required expenditures. JOHNSON WATER REQUEST: Superintendent McCracken presented a written request from Mrs.mo Jeane Johnson to connect a small building at 135 Boyd Lane to the Town water system excluding the usual tap fee.The small building is to be used as a studio and for accommodating guests when necessary.The Committee recommends that the Code must be enforced requiring a separate tap fee as long as the guest house is a separate unit.
