FALL RIVER WATER TREATMENT PLANT -METER:
Approximately 79 million or 39%of the June 1st through October 1st
water use is unaccounted for.To help account for this amount,Super
intendent McCracken recommended installing a meter at the Fall River
Treatment Plant which would measure the amount of water actually
leaving the plant.Presently there is a meter measuring the amount of
water entering the plant but it includes undistributed water such as
backwash. The Committee recommends installing a 12”meter at an ap
proximate cost of $4,000.
BILLING ADJUSTMENTS REGARDING LEAKY WATER GASKETS:
For the few situations in which verified leaky water meter gaskets
have affected customers’water billing, the Committee recommends an

The Committee reviewed the October 1977 water use report which showed
