HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Water Committee 1977-11-10BRADFORD PUBLISHING CO.,DENVER Water Committee RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS fl ]November 10,1977 Committee: Attending: Also Attending: Absent: Chairman Sutter,Trustees Houston and Dannels Chairman Sutter,Trustees Houston and Dannels Mayor Tregent,Town Administrator Hill,Water Superintendent McCracken,Finance Officer Duncan, Accountant Daniels None FALL RIVER WATER TREATMENT PLANT -METER: Approximately 79 million or 39%of the June 1st through October 1st water use is unaccounted for.To help account for this amount,Super intendent McCracken recommended installing a meter at the Fall River Treatment Plant which would measure the amount of water actually leaving the plant.Presently there is a meter measuring the amount of water entering the plant but it includes undistributed water such as backwash.The Committee recommends installing a 12”meter at an ap proximate cost of $4,000. BILLING ADJUSTMENTS REGARDING LEAKY WATER GASKETS: For the few situations in which verified leaky water meter gaskets have affected customers’water billing,the Committee recommends an adjustment procedure of refunding up to 50%of the amount used over the minimum. WATER USE REPORT -OCTOBER 1977: The Committee reviewed the October 1977 water use report which showed a 3%decrease in use from October 1976. REPORTS: NCWCD WATER RATES -Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District water rates for 1978 will remain the same as in 1977 at $5 per unit. WINTER BLEEDERS -Superintendent McCracken reported that the number of bleeders has been reduced to two.
