HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Water Committee 1979-03-080 0 BRADFORD PUBLISHING CO.,DENVER R E C 0 R D 0 F P R 0 C E E D I N G S v’March 8,1979 Water Committee Committee:Chairman Wagner,Trustees Dannels and Rumley Attending:All Also Attending:Town Administrator Hill,Water Superintendent McCracken, Finance Officer Duncan,and Accountant Daniels RURAL WATER APPLICATIONS: GERALD E.PALMER requested service to his future residence to be located on a tract of land between One Thousand Pines Subdivision and Devon Hills Subdivision.The Committee recommends approval subject to annexation of the property to the Town of Estes Park and the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District,and that Mr.Palmer extend a 6” waterline from the waterline in One Thousand Pines to his property. CHARLES LOGAN -BILLING PROCEDURE: Mr.Charles Logan appeared before the Committee requesting reconsidera tion of the policy to bill water customers upon purchase of the tap rather than upon the actual physical connection as it applies to taps purchased prior to the proposed policy change.He had purchased his tap with the understanding that he would be billed upon tapping onto the system which had to be completed within one year.It was explained to Mr.Logan that the Town has no definite way of knowing when a tap is completed and,therefore,it was recommended the billing period commence upon the date of purchase and the customer be billed half the minimum fee.The Committee recommends adoption of the ordinance enacting this change. WATER USE FOR FEBRUARY 1979: Water Superintendent McCracken estimated about 12,000,000 gallons of water were used for bleeding during February with 20,458,000 gallons being the normal use. MICHIGAN FRONT END LOADER: The Committee authorized Chairman Wagner and Superintendent McCracken to sell the Michigan front end loader. INSTRUCTIONS TO NEW WATER CUSTOMERS: A copy of the revised “Instructions to New Water Customers”was sub mitted to the Committee for review.The revisions include the new water rates and fees,the requirement that ownership of the water main be transferred to the Town prior to water service,and that a drawing of the waterline as constructed be provided to the Town.The Committee recommends approval of the instructions as revised. PEDERSEN -CRAGS HOTEL PROPERTY: The Committee authorized water service to the Crags Hotel property for sixty days from this date in order that fire protection be provided. Should the appropriate waterline deed and right-of-way not be completed within the sixty days,then the water service will be discontinued. There being no further business,the meeting adjourned.
