Committee:Chairman Wagner,Trustees Dannels and Rumley
Attending:All
Also Attending:Town Administrator Hill,Water Superintendent McCracken,
Finance Officer Duncan,and Accountant Daniels
RURAL WATER APPLICATIONS:
GERALD E.PALMER requested service to his future residence to be
located on a tract of land between One Thousand Pines Subdivision and
Devon Hills Subdivision. The Committee recommends approval subject to
annexation of the property to the Town of Estes Park and the Northern
Colorado Water Conservancy District,and that Mr.Palmer extend a 6”
waterline from the waterline in One Thousand Pines to his property.
CHARLES LOGAN -BILLING PROCEDURE:
Mr.Charles Logan appeared before the Committee requesting reconsidera
tion of the policy to bill water customers upon purchase of the tap
rather than upon the actual physical connection as it applies to taps
purchased prior to the proposed policy change. He had purchased his
tap with the understanding that he would be billed upon tapping onto
the system which had to be completed within one year.It was explained
to Mr.Logan that the Town has no definite way of knowing when a tap
is completed and, therefore,it was recommended the billing period
commence upon the date of purchase and the customer be billed half the
minimum fee.The Committee recommends adoption of the ordinance
enacting this change.
WATER USE FOR FEBRUARY 1979:
Water Superintendent McCracken estimated about 12,000,000 gallons of
water were used for bleeding during February with 20,458,000 gallons
being the normal use.
MICHIGAN FRONT END LOADER:
The Committee authorized Chairman Wagner and Superintendent McCracken
to sell the Michigan front end loader.
INSTRUCTIONS TO NEW WATER CUSTOMERS:
A copy of the revised “Instructions to New Water Customers”was sub
mitted to the Committee for review. The revisions include the new
water rates and fees, the requirement that ownership of the water main
be transferred to the Town prior to water service, and that a drawing
of the waterline as constructed be provided to the Town. The Committee
recommends approval of the instructions as revised.
PEDERSEN -CRAGS HOTEL PROPERTY:
The Committee authorized water service to the Crags Hotel property for
sixty days from this date in order that fire protection be provided.
Should the appropriate waterline deed and right-of-way not be completed
within the sixty days, then the water service will be discontinued.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
