HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Water Committee 1979-10-11G 0 BRADFORD PUBLISHING CO.,DENVER R E C 0 R D 0 F P R 0 C E E D I N G S Water Committee vOctober 11,1979 Committee:Chairman Wagner,Trustees Dannels and Rumley Attending:Chairman Wagner Also Attending:Mayor Tregent,Town Administrator Hill,Water Super intendent McCracken,Finance Officer Duncan,Accountant Daniels Absent:Trustees Dannels and Rumley RURAL WATER APPLICATIONS: UPPER THOMPSON SANITATION DISTRICT/SCHENCK -Mr.Ron Duell of the Upper Thompson Sanitation District requested the Committee reconsider Robert Schenck’s request for water service to his residence located on the Fish Hatchery Road across from Fawn Valley.Mr.Duell explained that the Upper Thompson Sanitation District is being required by the State to replace Mr.Schenck’s water supply source and water service from the Town would provide the best possible source.The Committee explained that the Town is unable to serve water in this area because the Fall River line is a flow line with no pressure at Mr.Schenck’s location. JACK M.AND ANN M.WOLF —requested water service to serve their resi dence located on Lot 3,Division 4,High Drive Heights.The Committee recommends denial at this time in order not to interfere with the High Drive Water District’s progress and to uphold the Town’s policy not to extend into the area served by the Hondius water system. REQUEST FOR PAYMENT OF WATERLINE TO UPLANDS AT FISH CREEK P.U.D.: A request was received from Sweet Properties Inc.for payment of $8,144.61 from the Town for oversizing the waterline serving the Uplands at Fish Creek P.U.D.The Committee recommends Sweet Properties Inc.be reimbursed $8,144.61 upon receipt of the deed to the waterline. NORTHERN COLORADO WATER STUDY: A letter was received from Anne White and J.Ernest Flack of the University of Colorado asking if the Town would like to participate in their study of urban water use in the cities and towns of northern Colorado.The Committee reviewed the sample questionnaire enclosed with the letter and felt that the information to be derived from the survey would not provide much benefit to Estes Park,and,therefore, recommends the Town not participate. WATER FOR COLORADO COMMITTEE: The Committee discussed whether or not to join the Water for Colorado Committee which is a state wide committee which works for adequate future raw water supplies for domestic,agricultural and commercial needs for Colorado.Dues would be $250 annually.The Committee decided to table consideration for further study. REPORTS: September 1979 water use showed an 18%increase over September 1978 and a 5%decrease from August 1979. business,the meeting adjourned.
