FALL RIVER TREATMENT PLANT:
Modification of the Fall River Treatment Plant for treatment of giardia
is near completion.Superintendent McCracken reported that as soon as
the coal arrives,the plant can begin operation.
WATER CONSERVATION PROGRAM:
The Committee received and reviewed copies of “Estes Park’s Water
Conservation Program”which outlines the Town’s policies and philoso
phies towards water conservation as a part of the Environmental Impact
Statement of the Windy Gap Project.
STATE HEALTH DEPARTMENT STUDY ON GIARDIA:
The State Health Department is proposing a study of giardia which
involves surveying customers of the local accommodations.Several
motel owners are apparently objecting to the survey.
REPORTS:
February 1980 water use showed a 17%decrease from January 1930 and
a 32%decrease from February 1979.Superintendent McCracken confirmed
that the reverse measuring meter at Black Canyon Treatment Plan has
not been operating correctly.
The Water Department has advertised for bids for the construction of
the Big Horn Drive water main and the bid opening is scheduled for
Thursday,March 20th.
The water meter at the school was malfunctioning at the time of the
fire plug opening prank and has since been repaired.The school will
be submitting its fixture values from which the Town can determine
the potential capacity of the main presently serving the schools.
There being no further business,the meeting adjourned.
