George Clausen appeared introducing his water engineering firm of Rocky Mountain Consultants Inc.and the various services it could provide to the Town.He submitted a summary of the firm’s background and experience and requested Rocky Mountain Consultants be considered in future water projects and affairs. RURAL WATER APPLICATIONS: ARTHUR C.HYDE,INC.—A letter dated June 16,1980 was received from Bill Van Horn on behalf of Arthur C.Hyde requesting that further legal and engineering investigation on the Hyde water application be postponed until further notice.The Committee approved the request. PARTICIPATION IN THE AWWA APPEAL OF EPA REGULATIONS: The Committee recommends not contributing $50 to the American Water Works Association appeal of EPA regulations on trihalomethanes. WATER MAIN TESTING EQUIPMENT PURCHASE: The Committee recommends purchasing water main testing equipment at an approximate cost of $1,500,and allowing contractors to rent this equip ment with Water Department supervision for $200 per test. BIG THOMPSON WASTE WATER DRAIN LINE: Approximately 1,612 feet of waste water drain line from the Big Thompson treatment plant needs to be replaced which at a cost of $20 per foot would total $32,240.This cost estimate does not include the crossing at State Highway 7.About $18,850 remain in the 1980 budget for water improvement projects.The Committee tabled the matter to obtain an estimate on the highway crossing and to further review possible funding. CONDUIT REQUIREMENT AND READOUT LOCATION: The Committee discussed requiring conduit from the water meter to the Light &Power meter and locating both readouts together.The conduit would provide protection for the wire connecting the water meter to the readout and locating the readouts together would facilitate meter reading.These requirements would apply to new construction and/or major remodeling.The Committee recommends the Municipal Code be amended to include these requirements. JUNE WATER USE: Water use during June 1980 showed a 54%increase over May 1980 and a 21%increase over June 1979. There being no further business,the meeting adjourned.
