CODE REQUIREMENT REGARDING TWO WATER SOURCES:
The Committee reviewed policies of other cities regarding allowing city
water and well use on the same property.Generally, the cities polled
allowed both water sources provided both systems were completely separate
and no cross connections would occur. The Committee recommends the
Municipal Code be amended to allow well use and Town water use to the
same property provided (1)permission is granted by the Town,(2)an
inspection is made by the Town, and (3)no cross connection would occur.
PETERSON TAP TRANSFER REQUEST:
Ed Peterson requested reconsideration of his request to transfer an
existing water tap to a new building located on the “Trout Haven”
property on Highway 36.He also submitted a drawing designating a
waterline disconnection which would eliminate the possibility of a
cross connection occurring between the well and Town water system. The
Committee recommends the tap transfer be granted provided the Municipal
Code is amended as previous recommended.
RANGE VIEW WATER AGREEMENT:
The Committee reviewed and recommends approval of the final drafts of
the Range View water installation agreement and extension agreement
which have incorporated the previously recommended changes.
PROSPECT ESTATES ADDITION PUMPING AGREEMENT:
Terms for an agreement regarding the pumping system of Prospect Estates
Addition were discussed and it was felt that the agreement should be
on the same basis as the Lienemann agreement. The Committee suggested
the Town’s water consulting engineers work with Mr.Van Horn concerning
various details and that the proposed agreement be submitted to the
Committee for consideration at a later date.
REPORTS:
Letters requesting proposals for evaluating the Town’s future water
needs were sent to eight engineering firms. The Committee will review
the proposals at the January 1982 Committee meeting.
November 1981 water use shows a 31.70%decrease from October 1981 and
a .78%decrease from November 1980.
The State Health Department has changed its regulations and now requires
considerable additional information for a wastewater discharge permit
as well as a $400 filing fee per permit.DMJM-Phullips.Reister.Haley,
Inc.will be completing the Town’s applications and the State Health
Department has agreed to charge the Town $20 per hour for actual time
spent processing the permit applications.
The water augmentation suit has been filed with the Court of Appeals.
