HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Water Committee 1983-05-12C BRADFORD PUBLISHING CO.,DENVER R E C 0 R D 0 F P R 0 C E E D I N G S /Water Committee May 12,1983 Committee:Chairman Wagner,Trustees Dannels and Hix Attending:Chairman Wagner,Trustee Dannels Also Attending:Mayor Tregent,Town Administrator Hill,Water Superintendent McCracken,Clerk Jensen Absent:Trustee Hix SHIRLING REQUEST TO INSTALL A 3/4”SERVICE LINE: Water Superintendent McCracken resubmitted the Elwood Shirling request to install a 3/4”service line to his property located on Lot 8,Olympus Heights rather than the Code required 6”main. Superintendent McCracken explained that at the time the Committee made the decision not to allow the service line,they did not have all the information.The service line could be run from the Town’s 4”main on Bellevue Drive to Mr.Shirling’s lot,(Lot 8,Olympus Heights).The Committee recommends that the 3/4”service line be approved. BRIZZOLARA REQUEST TO INSTALL A SERVICE LINE: On November 10,1982,Doreen Brizzolara requested a service line to her property located on Lot 33,Olympus-Bellevue Heights.The Committee recommends that Ms.Brizzolara be given the same consideration as Mr.Shirling and recommends to the Board of Trustees that the service line be approved. CRYSTAL WATER COMPANY -REPORT: Town Administrator Dale Hill reported that he had talked to Wendell Harding regarding the Crystal Water Company.Mr.Harding stated that the owner,Mr.Scott,did not want to talk to the Town or to Upper Thompson Sanitation District regarding the sale of Crystal Water Company until the two parties got together and decided what they wanted to do.The Committee recommends that the Town Staff meet with the staff of Upper Thompson Sanitation District and report back to the Committee next month. RAW WATER SUPPLY FOR 1983: Town Administrator Hill reported that we have 500 acre feet of water from the Big Thompson and we have 225 acre feet of CBT water available to the Town for 1983.We need approximately 1,000 feet of water for the year.Administrator Hill asked for the authority to rent up to 300 more acre feet of water for the Town.The Committee recommends approval. DISCHARGE PERMITS FOR FALL RIVER AND BIG THOMPSON -REPORT: Town Administrator Hill reported that the Town has received a bill from the Fall River Plant for the Town’s discharge permit in the amount of $578.12.The Town has not received the bill from the Big Thompson Plant for the discharge permit. WATER USE -APRIL 1983: April 1983 water use showed a +6.02%increase from March 1983, and a +20.26%increase from April 1982.The total percent of water accounted for as of April 13,1983,is 70.20%. 0 C BRADFORD PUBLISHING CO.,DENVER R E C 0 R D 0 F P R 0 C E E D I N G S Water Committee -May 12,1983 -Page 2 FALL RIVER POWER PLANT -STATUS: Water Superintendent McCracken reported that the pump at Fall River has been shut down because it has not been workinq properly.The pump will be repaired soon.The Cascade Dam and Hydro Plant study has been completed and the decision whether to build will be made in the near future.If the plant is rebuilt,it will still be approximately 1-2 years before a new pump could be installed.A discussion followed.
