HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Water Committee 1983-03-250 0 BRADFORD PUBLISHING CO.,DENVER R E C 0 R D 0 F P R 0 C E E D I N G S “Water Committee March 25,1983 Committee:Chairman Wagner,Trustees Dannels and Hix Attending:Chairman Wagner,Trustee Hix Also Attending:Mayor Tregent,Town Administrator Hill,Water Superintendent McCracken,Finance Officer Duncan, Disaster Recovery Manager Kistner and Robert Kemp from DMJM-Philips,Reister,Haley,Inc. Absent:Trustee Dannels This committee meeting was called to discuss the inlet to the Fall River Water Treatment Plant which was lost in last summer’s flood. The costs of the temporary pumping arrangement ($31,000),along with projected operating costs ($7,500 per year),were reviewed at length. It is the opinion of the committee that the permanent inlet should be constructed as soon as possible. Mr.Robert Kemp indicated the cost of the permanent diversion structure and pipeline could cost as mudh as $125,000. Disaster Recovery Manager Kistner discussed possible financial assistance grants from both the Federal and State governments. The committee recommends the Water Department proceed with whatever steps are necessary to construct the permanent diversion structure and pipeline as soon as possible.
