HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Water Committee 1983-07-140 0 BRADFORD PUBLISHING CO.,DENVER R E C 0 R D 0 F P R 0 C E E D I N G S V Water Committee July 14,1983 Committee:Chairman Wagner,Trustees Dannels and Hix Attending:Chairman Wagner,Trustee Dannels Also Attending:Mayor Tregent,Town Administrator Hill,Water Superintendent McCracken,Clerk Jensen Absent:Trustee Hix RURAL WATER APPLICATION: KOA CAMPGROUND -Mr.and Mrs.Florian Hansen requested water service to the KOA Campground on Highway 34 east of Estes Park.They are requesting 520 fixture units at a cost of $20,652.85.The Committee recommends water service be provided. WATER DEPARTMENT CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS: Water Superintendent McCracken requested an opportunity to bid the installation of a new 8”line from Beaver Point to VerStraeten Road. Superintendent McCracken also requested permission to replace a 2”water line from Aspen Avenue to Stanley Avenue with a 6”line at an estimated cost of $51,600.00.The Committee recommends approval of both requests. REPORTS: Town Administrator Hill reported that the water shut-off date for the Stanley Hotel is Wednesday,July 20,1983,if the bill of $15,623.74 is not paid. Administrator Hill reported that he had talked to Hank Pedersen regarding water for the Twin Sisters ski area.Mr.Pedersen indicated that they were not interested in retaining the Windy Gap water. Water Superintendent McCracken gave a brief report on the Prospect Estates Pumping Station.Mr.Bob Kemp,of DMJM,has met with Bill Van Horn and they have agreed on the items which still need to be completed.Mr.Kemp will inspect the station when the work has been completed. Superintendent McCracken reported that only 6 or 7 property owners abutting Eagle Cliff Road have signed the agreement alleviating the Town of responsibility for maintaining the road if fill dirt is brought in to cover our water line.The Committee recommends that another letter be sent to the owners who have not signed the agreement. June,1983 water use showed a +30.63%increase from May,1983,and a +23.27%increase from June,1982.The total percent of water acounted for as of June 13,1983,is 74.47%.
