Discussion followed regarding “Insurance Services Office (ISO)” standards and existing code requirements.Using the “ISO” standards,the existing 4”water line serving Grand Estates Subdivision will not adequately serve Lake Meadow Condominiums. The Municipal Code states the minimum size water main for a new extension shall be 6”;the code also states that if the Town determines that it is in the Town’s best interest to increase the pipe size on new water main extensions the customer is installing,the Town shall pay for the cost to increase the pipe size and related material to by determined by the Town.Water Superintendent Richards submitted a proposal for the water main extension for this particular project which would result in the Town increasing the water main size to 10”and 8”and installing an additional fire hydrant.The developer would pay 65%or approximately $10,400 and the Town would pay 35%or approximately $8,600.The proposed main extension agreement is as follows: 6”Main Extension =790 G.P.M. 20’Highway Cut @ $26.25/ft 520’Grand Estates Drive @ $7.79/ft 6”Tap Three 6”Valves @ $232.51/each Three 5¼”Valve Boxes @ $63.00/each One Fire Hydrant One 6”Fire Hydrant Tee 6”x600’of Pipe @ $6.97/ft Asphalt 4’x600’@ $1.26/sq.ft All-thread,Nuts,Bolts,etc Compaction Rounding-off the total = 10”and 8”Main Extension =1,400 G.P.M.
