At the present time,the property is being served by a well.The Committee recommends approval of the application contingent upon the well being a self-supporting system thereby eliminating well water to enter Town mains. SOMBRERO RANCH -Rex Walker,Sombrero Ranch,has also requested water service to his property located at 1895 Big Thompson Avenue.Following discussion,the Committee recommends approval of the application contingent upon annexation of this property, with the possibility of including the KOA Campground,prior to receiving water service. SERVICE CALLS AND WATER LINE LOCATION FEES: Upon the Committee’s request,Finance Officer Vavra and Water Superintendent Richards submitted a report entitled “Calculation of Water Locator Fees”indicating the actual cost to the Town as being $10.00/locate.Following discussion,the Committee recom mends staff obtain further information and research,and return to the Committee for review. 1-TON PICK-UP TRUCK -REVIEW OF BIDS: The Committee reviewed the bids received on one 1-Ton pick—up truck they are as follows: FLEET BIDDER BASE PRICE DISCOUNT NET PRICE Rush Motors Boulder $13,123.18 —0—$13,123.18 Dellenbach Chevrolet Fort Collins $15,126.15 $2,185.27 $12,940.33 Davidson Chevrolet Loveland $12,878.40 —0—$12,878.40 Rains Estes Park Ford Estes Park $12,765.20 $500.00 $12,265.28 Water Superintendent Richards advised the Committee the vehicle had been upgraded from a 3/4-Ton to a 1-Ton pick-up truck.The Committee recommends accepting the low bid of Rains Estes Park Ford in the amount of $12,265.28. 0 0 BRADFORD PUBLISHING CO.,DENVER R E C 0 R D 0 F P R 0 C E E D I N G S Water Committee -April 17,1985 -Page two WELDER -REVIEW OF BIDS: The Committee reviewed the bids received on one welder unit.The specifications called for a 650-Amp welder;two bids were re ceived:General Air Service and Supply/Boulder and Empire Welding Supply Company/Fort Collins.Empire Welding Supply Company bid on one 400—Amp welder in the amount of $6,996.75 and, therefore,did not meet specifications.The Committee recommends accepting the bid in the amount of $12,892.59 submitted by General Air Service and Supply for the following: Lincoln Sam 650-Amp Welder K-1289 with 6-cylinder Perkins Diesel $10,420.00 Options 611.59 Miller 3000 4—Tandem Axle Trailer with options 1,786.00 Labor to assemble trailer and mount welder on trailer 75.00 $12,892.59 REPORTS: The water service installation to the traffic islands located at the intersection of Highways 34 and 36 has now been completed; estimated cost of this project is $980.The Water Department is scheduled to connect the new installation to the water system within two weeks. The Committee recommends approval of the installation of an additional water tap which will be located at the Chamber of Commerce Information Center.The tap will be available to visitors and will also assist the Parks Department in maintaining the flower display located at the Information Center.The existing water tap which is located at the rear of the Municipal Building is also available to visitors. The Water Use Report for March indicated the amount of water accounted for as being 64.1%;this figure includes three water main breaks. The Water Committee meeting for May has tentatively been scheduled for Wednesday,May 1,1985 at 1:00 P.M. There being no further business,the meeting adjourned.
