HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Special Water Committee 1987-09-170 0 PUBLISHING CO.RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS V “Special”Water Committee September 17,1987 Committee:Chairman Dickinson,Trustees Aldrich and Barker Attending:All Also Attending:Mayor Dannels,Trustee Hix,Town Admin istrator Hill,Public Works Director Widmer,Assistant Public Works Director Gerstberger,Clerk O’Connor Absent:Finance Officer Vavra CASCADE DIVERSION SYSTEM -REVIEW OF BIDS: In a memorandum dated September 16,Assistant Director Gerstberger stated four bids for the aforementioned project were received as follows: Gavell Excavating/Cornerstone Concrete $296,774.00 Western States $372,841.00 Tarco $381,544.48 Kitchen Excavating $391,153.50 The low bid submitted by Gavell/Cornerstone is 8%above the engineer’s estimate which was prepared December 24,1986.Mr. Gavell has advised his bonding company is experiencing difficulty in supplying the performance bond.In this regard,Director Widmer reported discussion was held with Town Attorney White. Following discussion,the Committee recommends awarding the contract in the amount of $296,774.00 to Gavell Excavat ing/Cornerstone Concrete with the condition the firm provide performance guarantees acceptable to Town Attorney White. WATER MAIN EXTENSIONS -REVIEW OF BIDS: The Committee reviewed a memorandum dated September 15,1987 presented by Assistant Director Gerstberger.Bids for the Stanley Avenue and Grand Estates Drive Water Main Extension Projects,designed to improve flow are as follows: Kitchen Excavating $28,681.50 Campbell/Kearney Excavating $28,877.60 Schmidt Earth Buildings,Inc $44,434.00 Sufficient funds are available in this year’s budget to fund this project.The Committee recommends awarding the contract in the amount of $28,681.50 to Kitchen Excavating. RURAL WATER APPLICATIONS: KINNIE -Lon W.Kinnie submitted a standard rural water applica tion to serve his property located at 1250 Range View Road.The Committee recommends approval of the application. PUGH -Mr.and Mrs.Charles A.Pugh also submitted a standard rural water application to serve their property located at Lot 5, Reed Subdivision.The Committee recommends approval of the application.
