HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Water Committee 1987-02-09C a RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS /Water Committee February 9,1987 Committee:Chairman Dickinson,Trustees Aldrich and Barker Attending:All Also Attending:Mayor Dannels,Town Administrator Hill, Public Works Director Widmer,Finance Officer Vavra,Assistant Public Works Director Gerstberger,Clerk O’Connor Absent:None REQUEST AUTHORIZATION TO SEEK PROPOSAL FROM DMJM TO PREPARE DISCHARGE PERMIT APPLICATIONS: Director Widmer reported the Fall River and Big Thompson Water Treatment Plant discharge permits will expire during 1987.Due to the lengthy,complicated application process,Director Widmer requested authorization to seek a proposal from DMJM to accom plish this task.The permits are required by the State Health Department.Following discussion,the Committee recommends Director Widmer be authorized to seek a proposal from DMJM, returning to the Committee for further review. BULK CONNECTOR RATE -DISCUSSION: The Committee reviewed a letter dated February 3,1987 submitted by the National Park Service.The Park Service was advised of the bulk connector rate and in their letter questioned the surcharge fee and basic rural residential rate.Discussion followed with the Committee recommending the letter be forwarded to DMJM for their response. REPORTS: 77%of the water was accounted for in January. The Committee reviewed a “Customer Service Response Report” prepared by Assistant Director Gerstberqer.The report indicated the activity,number of responses and man hours during the month of January.The report will be a valuable source of information for the Department. Concerning the Cascade Diversion Structure,both the National Park Service and the Town will be responding to questions raised in their joint meeting held last week. Following completion of all agenda items,the Committee adjourned to take a field trip to the Glacier Creek Water Treatment Plant. (V Vickie O’Connor,Town Clerk FEB10 1987
