HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Water Committee 1987-01-150 RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS 1Water Committee January 15,1987 Committee:Chairman Hix,Trustees Aldrich and Barker Attending:All Also Attending:Mayor Dannels,Town Administrator Hill, Public Works Director Widmer,Finance Officer Vavra,Assistant Public Works Director Gerstberger,Clerk O’Connor Absent:None FIELD TRIP -TOUR OF GLACIER CREEK WATER PLANT: Due to inclement weather,the field trip was postponed. REPORTS: Director Widmer submitted various graphs depicting total yearly accountable water,total amount of water billed from 1981 through 1986,comparison of water billed for the month of December from 1981 through 1986,year-to-date water billed for the same period, plus the standard monthly reports.The graphs allowed a better understanding of what has been occurring in the water system. 74%of the water was accounted for in December.Water sales are down approximately 3%from those in 1985. The Corps of Engineers have not issued the “404 Permit”to the Town for construction of the Cascade Diversion Structure. Several letters indicating non—support of the project have been received by the Corps.Such letters questioned the impact on the South Platte River.The Corps also received several letters of support.Town Attorney White has been appraised of the situation and will issue a letter to the Corps addressing the aforementioned claims and also request issuance of the Permit. Additional information will be forthcoming. Water line construction serving Lot 21,Hondius Heights,has been completed. Staff has begun updating the Water Ordinance and will present a “draft”ordinance for consideration in the near future. Assistant Public Works Director Gerstberger has begun a “customer service”system and will track all system defaults.Staff has requested they be advised of all customer inquiries which will aid such a service.
