HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Water Committee 1987-04-090 RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS /Water Committee April 9,1987 Committee:Chairman Dickinson,Trustees Aldrich and Barker Attending:All Also Attending:Trustee Habecker,Town Administrator Hill,Public Works Director Widmer,Finance Officer Vavra,Assistant Public Works Director Gerstberger,Clerk O’Connor Absent:None BULK CONNECTOR RATE ORDINANCE -DISCUSSION: Public Works Director Widmer presented the proposed Ordinance pertaining to bulk rate water users.The Committee reviewed and discussed each section, and,following minor revisions,recommends the Ordinance be approved. WATER ORDINANCE -DISCUSSION: Assistant Director Gerstberger presented a memorandum indicating proposed revisions to the Water Ordinance.The revisions will update and clarify said Ordinance.To amend this section of the Municipal Code,staff will require the services of Town Attorney White and the Town’s water consultant firm —DMJM.The Committee discussed the various revisions and recommends staff proceed,authorizing an estimated expenditure of $2,000 to obtain the consulting services of DMJM. RURAL WATER APPLICATION: Chamberlain —Mr.John McPhee,representing the owner,Nancy C. Chamberlain,appeared before the Committee requesting water service for Tract 5 of the Cullinan Property which is located south the Elkhorn Lodge. The applicant proposes connecting to the Town’s 2”water line with a 1” service line.Following discussion,the Committee recommends approval of the rural water application contingent upon the owner petitioning for annexation in both the Municipal Subdistrict and the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District,executing the Town’s standard water agreement, and installing a minimum 1”service line. REPORTS: The Committee reviewed the monthly water reports for February,including the Customer Service Response Report,year-to-date water billed and revenues collected,Accountable Water Report which indicated 71%of all treated water was accounted for,and the Water Use Record and Comparison Sheet.The Department is in the process of disconnecting all water bleeders. The Committee reviewed a letter submitted by the Mayor to the National Park Service concerning the minimum flow issue for the Cascade Diversion Structure. Correspondence relating to a possible water service line fracture located at 218 East Elkhorn Avenue was presented. A letter of resignation was submitted by Leander Goracke.Mr.Goracke will be retiring June 5,1987 following seventeen years of service to the Town.
