SERVICE BUILDING -UPDATE.
The Committee reviewed the plot plan and preliminary design

building as far west as possible to help screen the building from
the surrounding area. The upper level of the building will
contain the Meter Department with an entrance from Elm Road. The
exterior treatment on the east side has vet to be determined.
The Committee also reviewed a letter dated March 15,1988 submit
ted by Robert Mitchell/Tiny Town Cottages.In summary,the
letter expressed concern regarding the site location for the new
building.Director Dekker reported an additional proposal for
land acquisition was submitted by Frank Williams;however, the
option to build the building on Town-owned land remains the most
equitable for the Town.An “artist’s rendering”as well as
additional information will be forthcoming;Director Dekker will
also provide the additional information for Mr.Mitchell which
should indicate the Town is attempting to construct an attractive
building on the site.
STREET LIGHTING.
Additional street lights/Highway 36.Director Dekker reported
the 1988 Budget contained funds for the installation of 29
additional street lights on the north side of Highway 36,from
the Donut Haus to the Intersection with Marys Lake Road.A
preliminary cost estimate per fixture is $1,100.High Pressure
Sodium bulbs will be used.Light and Power Director Dekker will
provide firm prices prior to the installation of the street
lights.
Conversion of street lights/Highways 34 and 7.As High Pressure
Sodium fixtures use approximately one—half the energy as Mercury
Vapor fixtures, consideration is being given to convert those
street lights along Highways 34 and 7.Funding from the State
may be available;Director Dekker will research this program and
return to the Committee with additional information.
