EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION -ERNIE WACH
Director Matzke read the following in recognition of employee Ernie Wach:
“Ernie Wach passed away on Monday,April 29,1991 after a battle with cancer
which exceeded a year.Ernie was a Meter Specialist II in the department.
He began working for the Town in 1976 and would have completed fifteen years
of service in July.
Ernie displayed a lot of courage in the past year.During that time he
underwent massive surgery and numerous chemotherapy treatments and yet was
very regular in his attendance at work.
I wish there was some way I could publicly express my appreciation to Ernie
for the good job he did for the department and my admiration for his
dedication up to the very end.I will say that he was respected by all of
those who knew him and worked with him.Ernie will be missed by every one
of us.”
The Committee recommends staff research and discuss the possibility of installing
a memorial plaque similar to the Town’s “years of service”plaque.
