Chairman Aldrich called the Committee meeting to order at 2:00 P.M.
TWO-MAN BUCKET TRUCK -REQUEST AUTHORIZATION TO BID.
Staff is recommending replacement of the existing 9-year old
single—man bucket truck. This truck has become a constant
maintenance problem and Director Matzke reported $128,000 was
included in the Budget for this purchase. The budgeted amount
includes a trade-in of the existing truck. The Committee
recommends approval of the request to seek bids.
ELECTRIC RATE STUDY -REQUEST AUTHORIZATION TO SOLICIT PROPOSALS.
In a memorandum dated February 6,1991,Light and Power Director
Matzke requested authorization to solicit proposals for a rate
study.$10,000 has been budgeted for this study for the purpose of
evaluating a commercial time—of—use rate;however,the study would
include evaluating the entire system.Staff confirmed that (1)a
rate study was performed in 1987,and (2)the new study does not
necessarily indicate that higher electric rates will be
forthcoming.Consultants will review the Town’s system and provide
suggestions for improvements to that system. With the impact to
the Town’s wholesale power rate experienced and reported in
January, this study will provide a very valuable tool for the Town.
Staff will evaluate the proposals and return to the Committee with
a recommendation. The Committee recommends staff be authorized to
solicit proposals as requested.
REPORTS.
Staff reported that they will be requesting authorization to
purchase a half-ton pickup truck at the next Committee meeting.
Director Matzke reviewed the 1990 Peak Load,Flatiron Outage
Update, and various projects underway.Pertaining to peak load,
PRPA has offered their assistance in establishing an “alarm alert”
for the Estes Park system -additional information will be
forthcoming.
Assistant Administrator Widmer briefed the Committee on various
Platte River Power Authority activities.
There being no further business,Chairman Aldrich adjourned the
meeting at 2:38 P.M.
