In a memorandum dated February 6,1991,Light and Power Director Matzke requested authorization to solicit proposals for a rate study.$10,000 has been budgeted for this study for the purpose of evaluating a commercial time—of—use rate;however, the study would include evaluating the entire system.Staff confirmed that (1)a rate study was performed in 1987,and (2)the new study does not necessarily indicate that higher electric rates will be forthcoming.Consultants will review the Town’s system and provide suggestions for improvements to that system. With the impact to the Town’s wholesale power rate experienced and reported in January, this study will provide a very valuable tool for the Town.
