NEW BUSINESS:
1.A letter from the Estes Park Chamber of Commerce and signed by the President,
Lou Canaiy,officially urging the Town Board of Trustees to consider and
encourage the adoption of an industrial rate,was read to the Committee.
The letter pointed out that the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce
in talking with potential industrial users of electric power,found that it
was difficult to be precise.
Following a discussion of the problems and time required to conduct a survey
of this kind,the committee requested that Sweetland and Bailey study rates
now in use in other communities and submit a proposal for consideration by
the committee.It was further discussed by the committee that a proposed
rate for industrial use should in no manner conflict with rates now in effect.
2.Sweetland presented to the committee,2 bids for a truck to replace truck
No.15.Bids were received from two agents,as follows:
Estes Park Garage -Dodge Truck -½Ton pickup $1995.00
Circle R Motor -Ford Truck -½Ton pickup $1680.58
Both bids were priced with trade-in.Final approval to be made by the Board
of Trustees.
3.Sweetland advised the committee concerning wind damage to truck #12,the
ladder truck.We are advised by the insurance adjuster that $277.00 will be
allowed as a cash settlement.
The ladder truck,complete,was purchased in 1952.The chassis,special body
and ladder assembly have been charged off the books.Cost to put the ladder
truck in usable condition is estimated to exceed $1200.00.
Estimated cost of a new truck,body and ladder assembly with hydraulic lift and
bucket,with all safety features for use on present voltage would exceed
$10,000.00.
As of December 31st,1962,the amount charged to transportation equipment is
$32,000.00 and the charge off amounts to $22,000.00.Book value of all
equipment at this time is under $10,000.00.
No action was taken by the committee and no recommendations were made.
There being no further business,the meeting was adjourned.
