Committee Report
April 19,1965
CONMITTEE:Brodie -Tregent -Hunter -Sweetland -Bailey
ATTENDING:‘I
OLD BUSINESS:
None
NEW BUSINESS:
1.A request for power to serve the Big Elk Area was discussed by the
Committee. The request for service was submitted to the department
by Mr.Donald W.Smitherman, representing himself as developer for a
boys’camp.Estimated cost for the Town to serve this area would
amount to approximately $15,000.00.There is at this time no indica
tion that the area would be open to housing development. It was also
brought out during the diaussion that portions of the Town’s primary
line would be constructed through Forest Service land with future
development very unlikely.
The Committee feels that due to the uncertainty of future development
that the Town could not justify any portion of this expense. The
Committee unanimously agreed that cost of this extension should be
subject to the existing extension policy, which provides that the
developer pay 100 percent of the cost.
2.Committee gave approval for one light and power employee to attend
a meter school in Denver.Registration cost $10.00,together with
other expenses in the amount of $11.00 per day for three days.
3.A recent survey of rates for residential and commercial users was
given considerable time for discussion. No action was taken at this
time although the Committee plans to meet with Public Utility Commis
sion rate engineers at a later date for a general discussion of the
rates.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
