1.Sweetland reported to the Committee that he had received a request
from the Rodeo Association asking that banner poles be installed on
Elkhorn Avenue in a location between the Chamber of Commerce buihiing
and the Town Hall building paralleling the street at that point.
In checking the minutes, this request was also made May 18,1964,
and was sent to the Board of Trustees for final approval. The
regular minutes of the Board of Trustees for the meeting held on
May 25,1964,show that Trustee Harry Tregent moved the Light &
Power Department not construct a device to support a street banner
across Elkhorn Avenue.Trustee Carl Swanson seconded the motion.
Upon roll call the motion passed by the following votes. Those
voting “Yes”Trustees Ronald Brodie,Henry Dannels,C.M.Hunter,
L.Leo Martin,Carl Swanson,and Harry Tregent.Those voting “No”
none.
It is estimated that total cost to install such equipment to display
banners at this time would cost between $750.00 and $800.00,plus
maintenance requirements during the summer months. This is again
referred to the Board of Trustees for approval.
2.Sweetland asked the Committee for permission to advertise for sale
two sets of side boxes for pickup trucks which are now in storage.
In all probability, these will never be used on Light &Power equip
ment and are considered to be obsolete. Both sets of boxes are
now charged off the Light &Power books.Committee gave approval.
3.Sweetland requested permission from the Committee to buy new side
boxes for the 4-wheel ford truck No.28 at an estimated total cost
installed of approximately $700.00.This will include installation
of a winch which is now stored. This will require Board of Trustee
approval.
4.Permission was granted by the Committee to install one additional
street light in Allenspark.
5.Bailey asked for and received permission from the Committee for the
hiring of one additional girl for the summer months to assist in
general office work.Permission was granted.
