HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Light and Power Committee 1968-12-16RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Light &Power Committee Meeting December 16,1968 Committee:Chairman Tregent,Trustees Erickson and Petrocine Attending:Chairman Tregent,Trustees Erickson and Petrocine Also Attending:Superintendent Sweetland,Office Manager Bailey, Accountant Duncan,Town Clerk Hill. Superintendent Sweetland reported the department has installed one 150 KVAR capacitor near the Chevron station.Three more capacitors will be installed before spring. All members of the light and power department have completed a refresher course in first aid.Colorado State Patrolman Richard Handy was the instructor. The following bids were received for the sale of the 1959 Ford C-750 truck and chassis: Darwin Frgi &Fred Sckiclt $859.00 Dalton Truck Sales 1,260.00 Dry Gulch Motors 1,099.00 Kincaid Tree Surgery 1,262.00 The Committee recommends the high bid of $1,262.00 submitted by the Kincaid Tree Surgery be accepted. Superintendent Sweetland reported he has received requests from Otis Wiley on Aspen Avenue and Charles Omer on Peak View Drive for street lights.These requests will be added to the street lighting plan. The Light &Power Department has received a request from the Estes Park T.V.Company to install two poles.The Committee recommends Superin tendent Sweetland be allowed to make these installations at cost pro viding the department has the necessary spare time. The Committee instructed Superintendent Sweetland to contact C.H.Hoper and Associates as to the status of the current electric rate study. The Committee recommends an overhead gas heater be installed in the generator plant building.The cost of this installation is estimated to be $325.00. Dry Gulch Motors submitted an offer to sell the Light and Power Depart ment a used 1968 Ford one ton truck and take in as açtrade the depart ments 1961 Ford one ton truck for a net cost of $2,450.00 The Committee tabled action on this offer for additional information on comparative new trucks. The Committee recommends the department be authorized to send Foreman Dekker and Meter Reader Lamblin to a meter school at Colorado State University,January 28 through January 30,l969.Expenses for this school are $33.00 per person.
