RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS
Light and Power Committee Meeting
July 21,1971

Business Office Manager Duncan,and Mr.Knechtel
and Mr.Moriarity from R.W.Beck and Associates
SUBSTATION:
The consulting engineers,R.W.Beck and Associates,were represented
by Mr.Moriarity and Mr.Knechtel.
The Committee recormuends to the Board of Trustees that R.W.Beck and
Associates be directed to advertise for bids on the substation job.
These bids will be opened on September 13,1971.
The contract documents were reviewed by the Committee and approved sub
ject to the approval of the Town Attorney.
Cost estimates on the job were reviewed and a copy is attached to these
minutes.
NATIONAL PARK SERVICE EXTENSION-HIDDEN VALLEY:
Superintendent Dekker reported to the Committee on the status of the
project indicating that final plans,route,transformer size and location
of vaults have been decided.The underground cable and the transformers
have been ordered.The anticipated delivery date is prior to September
15th when construction is planned to start.One change to consider is
continuing the underground line from Aspenglen Campground to the Estes
Park Hydro Plant,thereby,making the Hidden Valley extension an indepen
dent line.This would eliminate the necessity to rebuild and three phase
the existing overhead power line from the Estes Park Hydro Plant to the
Aspenglen Campground.The attached map is made a part of these proceed
ings.
GlACIER CREEK EXTENSION:
Superintendent Dekker reported on a proposed line extension of approxi
mately three-fourths mile in length from Glacier Basin to the Glacier
Creek Livery.The line extension is drawn in on the lower right hand
section of the map which is made a part of these proceedings.George
Gore from Merrick and Company gave a not-to—exceed quotation for line
extension costs in the amount of $5,738.00 following the meeting.
PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION:
Superintendent Dekker reported on the following sizeable extensions under
construction and under consideration:
Holiday Inn,Golf Course Condominiums,World Wide Church of God
on Fish Creek Ranch,Smitherman Development in Big Elk Meadows
and TV Translator Station on Crosier Mountain.
