Light and Power Committee Meeting
November 3,1972

HYDRO-PLANT AUTOMATION:
Superintendent Dekker reported on the annual cost of operation of the
plant and requested permission to obtain engineering estimates as to
the cost of automation.The Committee authorized Superintendent Dekker
to secure a preliminary estimate of the cost of automation.
ADDITIONAL CHRISTMAS TREES:
Superintendent Dekker reported that six additional Christmas trees have
been constructed by the Department as previously authorized in September.
CHRISTMAS LIGHTING CONTEST:
The Committee authorized the usual expenditure of $100.00 for lighting
contest winners.The Chamber of Commerce advised that Friday,December
1st will be the date to turn on the lights.
LIGHT &POWER DEPARTMENT CAMERA:
Superintendent Dekker requested permission to purchase a 35 MM camera
for use by the department.The Committee advised checking with the
Police Department for availability of one of their cameras.If none is
available,the Committee authorized Superintendent Dekker to secure
price information and report back at the next meeting.
ADDITIONAL EMPLOYEE:
Superintendent Dekker expressed the need for an additional employee.
The Committee authorized securing an additional employee.
PRMPA ASSESSMENT:
Superintendent Dekker presented a proposed assessment to the Town for
1974.Since the proposal deviates from the original plan,the Committee
prefers long term financing rather than yearly pay-as-you-go assessments.
There being no further business,the meeting adjourned.
