ELECTRIC RATE INCREASE REPORT:
Superintendent Dekker reported that the rate increase will be effective with
the first full month’s billing after October 1,1974,and reflected in the
bills mailed out to customers on December 1,1974.
STREET LIGHT COMMITTEE MEETING REPORT:
Superintendent Dekker reported on the Street Light Committee Meeting held
October 2,1974.The Light &Power Committee is in agreement with the recom
mendations of the Street Light Committee.However,highway lighting will be
delayed for a policy decision as to the type of pole to be used.The Com
mittee recommends the subdivision code be amended to require developers to
furnish street lighting in subdivisions.
PLATTE RIVER POWER AUTHORITY -GOVERNING PROCEDURES:
The Light &Power Committee reviewed the Platte River Power Authority’s
operating procedures and after a long discussion decided the present methods
of decision making functions are very acceptable to the Town of Estes Park.
The Committee recommends Mayor Tregent communicate the above thought to the
Mayors of Fort Collins,Loveland and Longmont,as well as,the Platte River
Power Association’s Board of Directors.
SALE OF 1969 3/4 TON PICKUP:
Superintendent Dekker advised that the truck has been replaced and is no longer
required by the Department and should be advertised for bid.The Committee
recommends approval.
SERVICE BUILDING SECURITY MEASURES:
Superintendent Dekker presented an alarm system quote and explained the function.
He further advised that the fencing will be started during the next three weeks.
The Committee recommends further study to investigate alternate plans for an
alarm system.
ELECTRIC POWER RESEARCH INSTITUTE MEMBERSHIP &CONTRIBUTIONS:
Superintendent Dekker presented a request from American Public Power Association
for contributions in 1975 for the Electric Power Research Institute.EPRI is
funded for research in the energy industry.The Committee recommends bypassing
the request entirely for 1975.

RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS
CREA -CSU UNDERGROUND AND METER SCHOOL:
Superintendent Dekker reported that four people attended the Underground and
Meter School in Fort Collins.Three linemen attended the Underground School
and one meter reader attended an advanced course in metering.
EMPLOYEE STATUS:
Superintendent Dekker reported that one lineman quit,leaving the work force
short by one employee.The Department will continue at current status until
early 1975,unless the work load increases.
There being no further business,the meeting adjourned.
