BUDGET 1975:
Superintendent Dekker submitted the proposed 1975 light &Power Department
Budget to the Committee for its discussion and consideration.The Committee
recommends approval.
RATE STUDY REPORT:
Superintendent Dekker reported that the rate study is progressing according
to schedule and that notification of an increase in electric service by the
Town of Estes Park will be mailed to individual customers on about August
28,1974.The notice is attached and made a part of these minutes.
PLATTE RIVER POWER AUTHORITY —ESTES PARK POWER CONTRACT:
Superintendent Dekker reported on current changes necessary to clarify the
existing power contract between the Town of Estes Park and Platte River Power
Authority.A copy of the contract has been sent to the Town Attorney for his
opinion.The Committee recommends approval of the changes.
CONTRIBUTION TO COLORADO COUNCIL ON JOINT ENERGY:
Superintendent Dekker presented a memorandum from the Colorado Council on
Joint Energy requesting campaign support.Amendment No.4 has been previously
referred to as SCR—6.The Colorado Council requests a contribution of 1/20of1%minimum to 1/10 of 1%maximum of 1973 gross revenue or $389.00 to $777.00.
The Committee recommends approval.
AMERICAN PUBLIC POWER ASSOCIATION.1974 ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE WORKSHOP:
Superintendent Dekher advised the Committee of the 1974 Accounting and Finance
Workshop to be held September 24 —26,1974,and requested permission to sendtheOfficeManager.The Committee recommends approval.
MOBILE RADIO PURCHASE:
Superintendent Dekker advised the Committee of a need for an additional mobileradiointhedepartment.The Committee recommends approval.
LINEMAN:
Superintendent Dekker reported that two journeyman linemen have been hired bythedepartmentduringthepasttwoweeks.This brings the number of linemen
in the department to the level required to maintain service efficiency.
There being no further business,the meeting adjourned.

NOTICE OF AN INCREASE IN ELECTRIC SERVICE BY THE
TOWN OF ESTES PARK
You are hereby notified that the Utilities Department of the
Town of Estes Park has filed with the Public Utilities Commission of
the State of Colorado,on compliance with the Public Utilities Law,
certain changes in rates and tariff schedules affecting all classes
of service,and all consumers,to become effective with the billing
period beginning after October 1,1974,unless suspended in accordance
with the provisions of the Public Utilities Law of Colorado.
It is proposed that there shall be put into effect for all
classes of service and for all consumers receiving electrical service
from the Town of Estes Park an increase in tariff charges and rates.
Said increase in tariff charges and rates will be for customers inside
and outside the municipal boundaries of the Town of Estes Park and will
be uniform,with an increase of 20%for each rate and each class of
service,except for the electrical services provided for municipal
purposes to the Town of Estes Park,which will be increased 100%.
Upon approval by the Public Utilities Commission of the State
of Colorado,the total increase in revenues that would result from
increased tariff charges for the entire system would be approximately
$to,4-75’.op on an annual basis,of which the dollar increase on
an annual basis would be approximately $8/,97’2 .0 0 for service
inside the city and $75 505.Qo for service outside the
city.The estimate of’percentage increase and annualized revenue impact
is based upon data related to the use,revenues and operating costs for
a test year ending January 31,1974,adjusted to reflect on an annualized
basis changes that occurred during the test period,but not to reflect
increases subsequent thereto,including a wage increase to all employees,
effective July 1,1974.
Notice is hereby given that the existing or present rates,as
well as the proposed rates,are available for examination and explanation
at the office of the Utilities Department of the Town of Estes Park at
/OOrcfRE6c Ave ,Estes Park,Colorado,and at the offices of the
Public Utilities Commission of the State of Colorado,Columbine Building,
1845 Sherman Street,Denver,Colorado 80203.
Anyone protesting the action proposed under this notice
shall file a written protest,in duplicate,with the Public Utilities
Commission of the State of Colorado,at least ten (10)days before
the proposed effective date.
If the proposed rates and tariffs are suspended,the Public
Utilities Commission will hold a hearing to determine what rates and
tariff schedules will be authorized,which may be the same or different
from those proposed or those currently in effect.Anyone wishing
notice of such hearing shall so request the Commission in writing at
least ten (10)days before the proposed effective rate.
