HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Light and Power Committee 1975-01-02RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Light & Power Committee January 2, 1975 Committee: Chairman Petrocine; Trustees Wagner and Burgess Attending: Chairman Petrocine; Trustee Burgess Also Attending: Town Administrator Hill, Superintendent Dekker, Business Office Manager Duncan Absent: Trustee Wagner CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS TURN-OFF DATE: The Committee recommends following past policy of turning Christmas Lights off the first Monday after New Year's Day. FALL RIVER ADDITION HIGHWAY LIGHTING: Superintendent Dekker reported on the comparative costs of both aluminum and wood light poles and the consideration of breakaway poles required to meet highway safety standards. He also presented a drawing of Wonderview Avenue and U.S. No. 34, Fall River Road with the location of twenty-six light poles utilizing underground wiring. The entire project will be accomplished over two year period. The Committee recommends installation of elev6n light poles on Wonderview Avenue, and two to be installed at critical intersections on the old highway in 1975. The remaining thirteen lights will be installed during 1976. REPLACEMENT OF 1/2 TON PICKUP: Superintendent Dekker requested permission to secure bids for a 1975 pickup to replace a 1970 pickup. The Committee recommends approval. AMERICAN PUBLIC POWER ASSOCIATION ENGINEERING & OPERATING WORKSHOP: Superintendent Dekker advised the Committee of an Engineering and Operating workshop to be held February 25-27 in Seattle and requested permission to attend. The Committee recommends approval. HOUSE AT HYDRO PLANT: Superintendent Dekker advised that the caretaker's house at the Fall River Hydro Plant is not insulated and requested approval to insulate the ceiling only, which is an area of approximately 1,000 square feet. The Committee recommends approval. INCREASE IN RESIDENTIAL DEPOSITS: Business Office Manager Duncan requested permission to increase residential deposits from $25.00 and $50.00 to $40.00 and $100.00 for all electric residences. The Committee recommends approval. DECAL COSTS DISTRIBUTION: Superintendent Dekker reported that decals for a six to eight year period for all Town Departments will cost approximately $1,204.00 with 30% to Light & Power, 30% to Public Works, 20% to Water and 20% to General Fund. Prior approval of this project has been given by the Board of Trustees. RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Light & Power Committee January 2, 1975 Page Two (2) COMPARATIVE PURCHASED POWER COSTS: Superintendent Dekker presented comparative cost information on 1975 wholesale power rates for Tri-State, Public Service Co. of Colorado and Platte River Power Authority, which indicates a definite long range financial advantage from our affiliation with Platte River Power Authority.
