Light and Power Committee

COMMITTEE:Chairman Petrocine,Trustees Wagner and Burgess.
ATTENDING:Chairman Petrocine.
ALSO ATTENDING:Town Administrator Hill,Director Dekker and Finance
Officer Duncan.
ABSENT:Trustees Wagner and Burgess.
P.U.C.HEARING:
Director Dekker reported that he,Town Administrator Hill and C.P.A.
Carl Henderson met with the Town’s consulting rate attorney and rate
engineer on January 7th concerning the rate hearing scheduled for
February 3rd.Another meeting is scheduled for January 26th for
review of testimony.
MARY’S LAKE SUBSTATION:
Director Dekker reported that if the Town’s offer to purchase the
proposed substation site at Mary’s Lake is accepted by the owners,
$750.00 will then be advanced to the Bureau of Reclamation for
their costs to study our request for a transmission line tap.An
environmental assessment also will be made in accordance with the
Bureau’s request.
NEW VEHICLES:
Director Dekker reported that two vehicles have been ordered as re
commended by the Committee on December 11,1975.The additional
cost for the diesel engine over gasoline in the line truck will be
$1,277.00.
ENERGY CONSERVATION ADVERTISING:
Director Dekker reported that the cost of a message plate for the
postage meter is $21.00.There will be no additional charge by the
Data Processing Center to print an energy conservation message with
up to fifty characters on each convelope.The middle school will be
contacted as a possible source of energy posters.An energy message
on tape for customers placed on hold at the telephone switchboard
would be quite costly for the number of persons benefited.The
initial installation would amount to approximately $90.00 with a
monthly service charge of $22.50.The tape equipment would also
have to be furnished by the Light and Power Department.The committee
recommends not using this method.
P.R.P.A.REPORT:
Director Dekker reviewed the minutes of the P.R.P.A.meeting held
on December 17,1975.
P.R.P.A.plans to market a $50,000,000.00 bond issue by March 25,
1976.In order to accomplish this,detailed financial information
will be required from each individual member city by January 20th
or as soon thereafter as possible.

A.P.P.A.ENGINEERING &OPERATIONS WORKSHOP:
Director Dekker requested authorization for he and Foreman Dean to
attend an American Public Power Association Engineering and Operations
Workshop to be held March 8 -11 at San Antonio,Texas.The Committee
recommends approval.
There being no further business,the meeting adjourned.
