MARY’S LAKE SUBSTATION:
A proposal for engineering services was received from Miner and Miner
for the Mary’s Lake Substation project. Also received was a schedule
of completion as follows:
Transformer,switchgear specification November (mid),1976
Finish all design and purchase material April,1977
Negotiate Construction Contract June,1977
Material should be on hand August 1,1977
Construction begins September 1,1977
Energize Substation January,1978
The Committee recommends accepting the engineering proposal as sub
mitted in the letter dated October 5,1976.
TALLANT PARK SUBSTATION:
The Committee reviewed several designs of the proposed screening for
the Tallant Park Substation and recommends drawing “B”which incor
porates varying height, offset, and larger panels. The panels should
be arranged to maximize the screening of the transformers. The Com
mittee recommends proceeding with the bidding and to pour the footings
this fall in order to complete the project by April 15,1977.
STREET LIGHTS -PINEWOOD ACRES AND LONE PINE ACRES:
As requested by property owners, the Committee recommends installing
street lights at the entrances of Pinewood Acres and Lone Pine Acres
(Highway 34 entrance)at an approximate cost of $750 each.
LIGHT &POWER BILL EXCEPTION:
Owners of a business in Glen Haven requested relief on their light and
power bill due to the hardships encountered from the flood.Because
there is no provision in the Municipal Code for alternative payment
schedules and because such relief could not be equitably distributed
among all those who suffered from the flood, the Committee felt the
request for an exception should not be granted.
RADIO BASE STATION:
The Committee recommends exchanging the current radio base station
with a newer model which includes a battery pack. The battery pack
provides an 8 hour back up power system whenever the normal source
of power is shut off. With a trade—in of the current base station
at its full value when originally purchased and with no additional
cost for installation, the cost of the battery pack model would be
$950.
