TALLANT PARK SUBSTATION:
Three similar drawings depicting screening for the Tallant Park sub
station were submitted for consideration.The Committee discussed
using cedar and stone materials,which would match the Visitor Center,
for screening on the west and north sides,and 50’of the east side
of the substation.The south side would be screened by landscaping.
The Committee also discussed limiting the height to approximately
twelve feet with some variation in height and depth to avoid a massive
wall appearance.
The Committee recommends the Public Works Department prepare the final
plans and specifications for the Tallant Park substation screening and
submit them to this Committee for final recommendation.
MARY’S LAKE SUBSTATION:
As requested at the last Committee meeting,detailed cost estimates
from Miner &Miner and R.W.Beck &Associates were obtained for the
construction of the Mary’s Lake substation.The total cost estimates
are as follows:
Miner and Miner,Consulting Engineers,Inc.$460,000
R.W.Beck and Associates $523,000
The Committee recommends accepting the cost estimate from Miner and
Miner and requesting them to submit an engineering proposal to the
Board of Trustees for approval.
INFORMATIONAL ITEMS:
A.HYDRO PLANT -Due to the continuing high water levels,the
Fall River hydro plant will continue operating through Labor
Day.The added labor cost will be approximately $350 but the
savings on purchased power will be about $800—$1,000.
B.FLOOD DAMAGE REPAIRS -The Glen Haven power line repairs have
been completed and the Big Thompson Canyon lines are expected
to be completed by the end of next week.
There being no further business,the meeting adjourned.
