PASS -ON RATE INCREASE:
Max Kiburz of R.W.Beck &Associates explained to the Committee that
a 10.12%pass—on rate increase will be needed to cover the 26.2%in
crease in wholesale power rates. He stated that the pass—on rate in
crease percentage, which is based on the guidelines established by the
PUC at the 1976 hearing, was calculated by dividing the 26.2%or
$149,691 increase in purchased power by the total number of kWh sales
resulting in a $.00354/kWh increase which is then added to the present
kWh rates. This method of calculation has been previously supported
by the PUC.
The proposed pass—on rate increase will only cover the increased costs
of wholesale power and not improve the financial position of the Town.
If approved, the increase will be reflected in the April 1,1977 billing
period.
The Committee recommends the ordinance proposing the 10.12%pass—on
rate increase be adopted by the Board of Trustees.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
