Attending:Chairman Petrocine,Trustees Burgess and Wagner
Also Attending:Town Administrator Hill,Light &Power Director Dekker,
Finance Officer Duncan
Absent:None
METERMEN’S SCHOOL:
The Committee recommends the Light &Power meter specialists attend
the 3—day metermen’s school in February at Colorado State University.
STREET LIGHTS -FALL RIVER ROAD:
A request for street lights along the west portion of Fall River Road
was received from several property owners.Street lights were approved
for that area when it was annexed but several property owners requested
they not be installed at that time. The cost would be approximately
$2,400 for three street lights. The Committee recommends tabling the
request until the next meeting in order to review a schedule of street
light installations established a few years ago.
P.U.C.FILING:
Light &Power Director Dekker submitted the revised rate increase
information to be filed with the Public Utilities Commission which
includes a change in the average rate increase from 13.1%to 8.7%.
This was due to a change in the method by which the Town’s wholesale
power bills for 1978 will be figured. Now supplemental power purchases
will be billed by a surcharge to the Town based on the exact amount
needed during various months throughout the year. Therefore,by spring
1978,a surcharge will probably be applied to retail rates to recover
our exact wholesale surcharge costs. This will require an additional
filing with the Colorado Public Utilities Commission.
REPORTS:
CHRISTMAS LIGHTING -Director Dekker reported that this year’s
Christmas lighting will cost approximately $8,000 to $10,000.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
