BUDGET:
The Committee reviewed the proposed 1978 Light and Power budget.The Committee will
review the budget again at its next meeting.
FINANCE OFFICERS WORKSHOP:
The Committee recommends the Town Finance Officer attend the annual American Public Power
Association (APPA)Finance Officers workshop.The workshop will be held in Louisville,
Kentucky September 26—29.
MATERIALS MANAGEMENT:
The AFPA is conducting a school in purchasing and material management.The school will
be held in San Francisco September 21—23.The Committee recommends Donald Engelhardt
and Joel Horton attend.
SUBSTATION SCREENING:
Mayor Tregent referred the substation screening subject as stated in the July Committee
minutes back to the Light and Power Committee.
The Committee discussed this subject and again recommends that the substation screening
be approved and that the Light and Power Department be authorized to proceed with
and complete the project.
REPORTS —DIRECTOR DEKKER:
Marys Lake Substation—much of the construction and material has begun to arrive and is
being stored in the warehouse.Town Attorney John Phipps has questioned the Bureau of
Reclamation license for the substation site.Construction on the substation will begin
as soon as the legal details are resolved.
Service Building Addition—this project should be complete within two weeks.
