CABLEVISION:
The Committee discussed various citizen complaints regarding Cable
vision service with local Cablevision manager Ron Townsend.Mr.
Townsend explained that Cablevision is currently under-staffed and
unable to meet the service demands but that Liberty Communication
Company is undergoing major company and employee changes that should
bring positive results very soon.
RADIO BASE STATION:
A new proposal was received from Mr.Robert Heron regarding the radio
base station located on Prospect Mountain.He proposed the Town grade
the road and maintain the culverts and drainage of the road once each
spring.The Committee recommends submitting a proposal in which the
Town would give one day’s work on the road each year in exchange for
use of the land.
1979 PURCHASED POWER RATE:
PRPA is proposing an 8%increase in wholesale power rates for 1979.
The Committee recommends proceeding immediately with a pass—on rate
increase for retail rates and to conduct a cost of service study soon.
REPORTS:
ENERGY AND MAN’S ENVIRONMENT -The Committee will meet with the
School Board on November 29,1978 to discuss initiating the
Energy and Man’s Environment program in the schools.
SOUTH LINE REBUILD from Beaver Point to Cheley Camp area has been
completed.
There being no further business,the meeting adjourned.
