LIGHT &POWER AND WATER DEPARTMENT TRUCK BIDS:
The following bids were received for two new trucks for the Light &
Power Department and the Water Department:
Estes Park Garage Estes Park Ford
Water Dept.truck —no trade $6,928.38 $6,852.00
L &P Dept.truck —no trade $6,928.38 $6,852.00
Water Dept.truck w/trade $5,878.38 $6,452.00
L &P Dept.truck w/trade $6,228.38 $6,652.00
Totals (including trade—in)$12,106.78 $13,104.00
The Committee recommends accepting Estes Park Garage’s bid of $12,106.78
for the Light &Power Department and Water Department trucks.
CABLEVISION REPORT &REVOCABLE PERMIT:
Mr.Carl Occhionero,new manager for Cablevision of Estes Park,reported
on Cablevision’s progress.He explained that the system has been
analyzed and needs extensive replacement and repair work.He estimated
the majority of the improvements to be completed within a year.
A letter was received from the Town Attorney suggesting the CATV permit
be amended because of recent Supreme Court decisions.The Committee
discussed basing the permit fee on the number of CATV accounts rather
than a percentage of gross revenues.The Committee recommends the
Revocable Permit and the Municipal Code be amended to change the fee
to a $2.00 per customer per year basis.
SUBSTATION PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE:
Periodically the substation is tested and cleaned as preventative
maintenance.The testing and cleaning is done by Westinghouse and will
cost approximately $1,900.The Committee recommends approval.
1979 PROJECTS:
Light &Power Director Dekker proposed and the Committee recommends
approval of the following projects for 1979:
Glen Haven Line:Storer Ranch to Herndon’s(underground)$55,000
Herndon’s to Glen Haven(overhead)15,000
YMCA and Tunnel Rd Line:Marys Lake to Windcliff(overhead)52,500
Windcliff to YMCA (underground)12,000
Big Thompson—South Line Tie at Fish Creek Rd:Brodie Avenue 000toLittleValley(overhead)

The Committee also discussed placing underground the line at the East
Riverside Drive bridge area and recommends placing a conduit in the new
bridge at this time.

ENERGY AND MAN’S ENVIRONMENT PRESENTATION:
The presentation of the Energy and Man’s Environment Program to the
School Board has been rescheduled for February 28th.If initiated,
the program will cost 15ç per residential meter.
REPORTS:
EMPLOYEE STATUS -Joe Horton will be retiring in the early spring.
Tentative plans are to fill Joe’s position with a presently employed
meter reader,fill the meter reader’s position with a groundsman,
and thento hirea newgroundsman.
RAWHIDE -A public hearing regarding the Rawhide plant and waterline
will be held on March 6th and another public hearing on the pro
posed transmission lines on April 27th.
MUNICIPAL ENERGY SAVINGS ASSOCIATION (MESA)has been promoting con
servation through local radio and newspaper messages.
CRAIG STATION is expected to have the 1st unit in operation in August
1979.
POWER SALES for January 1979 increased 20%over January 1978 which is
10%over the projected sales.
