CABLEVISION OF ESTES PARK:
Chairman Robert E.Burgess opened the meeting to discussion of Cable
vision service in Estes Park.Approximately twenty—five persons
appeared and several offered comments regarding service to the schools,
connecting fees, existing and future quality of service, and expected
program offerings in the future.Mr.Carl Occhionero addressed all
of the comments and discussed the economics of the system. He also
stated that Liberty Communications is in the process of selling Cable
vision of Estes Park and that Town Board approval of the new purchaser
will be requested soon.Mr.Occhionero implied that future service will
depend on the purchaser of the system but that serving the schools will
be pursued immediately.
“PASS ON”RATE INCREASE:
The Committee reviewed the information prepared for the PUC filing of
the proposed rate increase passing on the increase in the wholesale
power rates. If approved by the PUC,the rate increase will become
effective on January 7,1981.The Committee recommends adoption of
the ordinance enacting the “pass on”rate increase.
HIDDEN VALLEY SKI AREA POWER CONTRACT:
Light &Power Director Dekker discussed possible changes in the power
contract for Hidden Valley such as reducing the number of meters to
one, relocating the meter to the power plant and having the National
Park Service/Recreation District assume the responsibility of main
taining the underground line to Hidden Valley. Also suggested was
having Max Kiburz review any revisions to the contract and the costs
of Mr.Kiburz’s services being divided by the entities involved. The
Committee recommends the Light &Power Director pursue renegotiating
the contract as discussed.
RATE CLASSIFICATION ASSISTANCE TO CUSTOMERS:
The Committee felt that a service should be provided to all electric
residential customers assisting them in choosing the proper rate classi
fication when the new rate structure is established. The Committee had
discussed obtaining proposals for a computer prograni which would print
numerous examples of rate comparisons from which the customer could then
review and make a decision concerning his own particular situation.
Proposals for the computer program were received from Cy Wood for $700
and from NCR for $1,500.The Committee recommends accepting Mr.Wood’s
bid for $700.

Several culverts of the new storm drainage system in the Light &Power
shop area have been installed. The project should be completed within
the next week.
Eight Christmas tree decorations have been added to Fall River Road.
