HIDDEN VALLEY SKI AREA POWER CONTRACT:
George Hix,Jim Beauchamp,Connie Backstrum and Bob Diers of the Rocky
Mountain Metropolitan Recreation District appeared before the Committee
to discuss renegotiating the power agreement involving Hidden Valley.
After a brief review of the power contract,it was generally agreed
that the contract needed some updating.Members of the Recreation
District said they would contact the National Park Service regarding
revising the contract and would let the Committee know if the National
Park Service is agreeable to renegotiation.
GENERIC HEARING DECISION COMPLIANCE:
Light &Power Director Robert Dekker reported on several changes in
volving the proposed filing for compliance with the Generic Hearing
Decision. The most notable change will occur in the operating ratio
which will probably change from 83.7 to 74,1.The Town’s rate consul
tants feel the new operating ratio can be substantiated because most
of the capital expenditures projected for the next four years will be
for areas outside the town limits.
1981 BUDGET:
The first draft of the Light &Power Department budget for 1981 was
reviewed by the Committee,
REFRIGERATION UNIT FOR COMPUTER ROOM:
There is a problem of excessive heat in the computer room and opening
the windows for air circulation allows too much dust in the room which
is damaging to the computer. Two used air conditioning units can be
obtained for $400 which when added to the costs of installation, duct
and electrical work, controls and unit checkout, will total approximately
$1,335.The Committee recommends proceeding immediately with the pur
chase and installation of the air conditioning system.
REPORTS:
A recent Energy and Man’s Environment newsletter contained several
articles submitted by Estes Park Students.
Installation of the ventilation system at the Light &Power shop building
is nearly complete.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
