CABLETELEVIS ION:
Sue King,employee of Estes Park Cable TV Company,reported that the
sale of the cable television system to Estes Park Cable TV Company has
been completed and new equipment is on order.A survey regarding the
programming will be in the September 4th issue of the Trail Gazette.
A written request was received from Wayne Unze to substitute a CBS
channel for channel 12.The Committee recommends approval of this
substitution and pursuing the possibility of adding channel 12 later.
COMPUTER MODIFICATIONS:
The Committee discussed modifications to the present computer system
which would be necessary to accommodate the programs already planned.
The required equipment and supplies would cost approximately $12,300.
The Committee recommends proceeding with the modifications with a 10%
down payment and financing the remaining amount for 60 months at a
10%interest rate.The staff reported that they will be conducting
a study to determine the data processing needs for the Town of Estes
Park for the next five years.
PASS ON RATE INCREASE:
In order to recover the cost of the proposed 40%increase in wholesale
power rates,a retail rate increase will be necessary in 1982.The
Committee recommends proceeding with the rate increase and authorized
the Light and Power Director to meet with Attorney McEwan and select
a rate engineer to assist in the rate study.
LIGHT AND POWER SHOP DRIVEWAY ENTRANCES:
The garage entrance slabs at the Light and Power shop are continually
breaking up due to the land settling.The Committee reviewed an estimate
of $11,020 to replace the slabs using a drilled pier grade beam type
design and recommends that the Light &Power Department continue to
fill in the slab areas with pavement as needed.
METER READER TRUCK:
The Committee recommends proceeding with obtaining bids for a small
4WD pickup for meter reading purposes.
1982 BUDGET:
The Committee reviewed the first draft of the 1982 Light and Power
Department budget.
There being no further business,the meeting adjourned.
