FALL RIVER HYDRO PLANT -CASCADE DAM:
As recommended by the Committee June 18,1984,Mayor Dannels
wrote a letter to the National Park Service advising the Town
will try to inform them within sixty days whether or not the Town
will rebuild Cascade Dam.The decision in part will be based
upon additional work performed by Warzyn Engineering through
their proposal which includes:Sediment Transport Analysis,
Additional Stream Flow Analysis,Review of Plant Records,
Preliminary Diversion Structure Design,Project Cost Update,
Update Benefit—Cost Figures,and Produce and Present Report,for
a fee of $4,500 -$5,500.Discussion followed regarding the
possibility of this proposal being added to a “DSR”,flexible
funding and the effect this project would have on the Fall River
Water Treatment Plant.The Committee recommends the Light and
Power Department be authorized to proceed with Warzyn’s Proposal
to further determine the outcome of the hydro plant and dam.
HIGHWAY LIGHTING:
Director Dekker gave a brief report on additional street lighting
on South Saint Vram,Beaver Point and Highway 34.Following
discussion,the Committee recommends Director Dekker submit
street lighting plans and budget sheets for each lighting sec
tion.
REPORTS:
1984 KWH Sales for January through June indicate a 10.5%increase
over 1983.
Elkhorn Avenue street lights,which have been shipped to date,
are installed and operating.
The Light and Power Service Building approaches require rebuild
ing again with an approximate cost of $2,000.00.
There being no further business,the meeting adjourned.
