HomeMy WebLinkAboutEPURA RESOLUTION 286QRESOLUTIONNO.286ARESOLUTIONOFTHEESTESPARKURBANRENEWALAUTHORITYAMENDINGTHEWORKPROGRAMFORFY2000TOINCLUDEINVESTIGATIONOFDEVELOPMENTOPPORTUNITIESINTHETALLANTPARKAREAWHEREAS,theEstesParkBoardofTrustees,atitsgoal-sellingretreatonMay10,2000,askedtheEstesParkUrbanRenewalAuthority(EPURA)toinvestigatethebestandmostappropriateuseoftheTallantParkarea,whichisastrategicallylocatedpublicly-ownedproperty,consistingofapproximately10acres,eastoftheintersectionofHighways34and36;andWHEREAS,thispropertyisclearlyunderutilizedatpresentanditsimprovementwouldbetotheadvantageoftheTownandthecommunityingeneralandconsistentwiththegoalsofEPURA.Ataminimum,itappearsthattheexistingpublicparkingareaonthesouthsideoftherivercouldbereadilyexpandedbyatleastafactoroffour;andWHEREAS,itappearsthatalltheprojectprioritiesestablishedbyEPURAforFY2000canstillbeaccomplishedwiththeadditionofthisactivity,dueinparttoLarimerCountyobtainingplanninggrantsfortheEstesValleyTransportationAlternativesStudywhichisanticipatedtofundtheIntermodalTransportationPlan,towhich$75,000hadbeenallocatedintheFY2000EPURAprojectsworkprogram.NOW,THEREFORE,BEITRESOLVEDBYTHEESTESPARKURBANRENEWALAUTHORITYTHAT:TheinvestigationofthebestandmostappropriateuseoftheTallantParkareabeaddedtotheEPURAprojectprioritiesforFY2000,consistentwithavailablefundingrelativetootheradoptedprioritiesandcurrentprojectcommitments.ThisinvestigationwillbeconductedbyEPURAstaff,withtheinvolvementofconsultantsasnecessary.ADOPTEDthis21stdayofJune,2000.ESTESPARKURBANRENEWALAUTHORITY________LLPChairmanATTT:Secrary
