Minutes of the June 15, 1989 meeting were approved as prepared.
COMMITTEES
Relocation - The Committee will meet following today's Board
meeting.
Circulation - The West Elkhorn lot is being utilized for parking.
STAFF
Following a recent retreat, the Board's consensus is to continue
river corridor work beginning at the East Riverside Drive bridge
to the Kemper (LaCasa) property. Following discussion, it was
moved and seconded (Pauley~Godbolt) staff be authorized to prepare
a statement of work and solicit a proposal from Design Studios West
for the design and construction drawings of the park space,
including the riverwall around the restroom and Range Realty
building, irrigation design and river hydraulic study.
It was moved and seconded (Klaphake-Hondius) staff be authorized
to obtain bids for the riverwalk signs, such bids to include
fabrication of 12 sets of medallions constructed out of either
porcelain, fiberglass or silkscreen on aluminum, mounting brackets
and one events signboard. Motion carried. Director Anderson will
prepare a list of proposed riverwalk sign locations for the Public
Works Committee's review.
The $10,000 transferred to the Town in April to be used for
replacement as needed or maintenance, has been expended with the
replanting of trees at the Hwy. 34/36 intersection. It was moved
and seconded (Pohl-Klaphake) staff be authorized to split the cost
of the bill with Mill Brothers for Concolor fir replacement in
Riverside Plaza and to split the cost of replacing 7 ash trees in
this same area.
It was moved and seconded (Pauley-Godbolt) the Board authorize the
Town Parks Department to remove 55 dead ash trees along Elkhorn
Avenue with replacement of another species occurring next spring.
It was moved and seconded (Klaphake-Ericson) staff be authorized
to proceed with purchase of a high quality blue canopy to protect
performers and instruments while performing in Riverside_Plaza,
subject to Public Works approval of locating such canopy in this
area.
