Minutes of the January 19, 1989 meeting were approved as prepared.
COMMITTEES
Development - Commissioner Pohl reported the URA met with local
artistic organizations on February 1, 1989 regarding entertainment
scheduling for the proposed 1989 Family Festival to be held in
Riverside Plaza and Tregent Park. Representatives from the
following organizations attended: Estes Park Music Festival, Estes
Park Chorale, Estes Park Area Historical Museum, Village Band, Arts
Center of Estes Park, Highland Dancers/Long1s Peak Highlanders, as
well as members of EPURA and Robert Aiken, Entertainment Manager.
Suggestions exchanged included:
Folk music. Highland Band's use of the areas for rehearsals,
artists in progress (sculptures, painting), square dancing,
renaissance fair, local history feature (puppets, etc.). Village
Band, 19th century living skills, recorder group, dixieland band, as
well as entertainment scheduled by Robert Aiken, Entertainment
Manager.
The Board authorized Director Anderson to request the Public Safety
Committee's cooperation and assistance with a potential
loading/unloading area at Riverside Plaza on performance days.
NEW BUSINESS
The Board authorized Staff to solicit bids for an information
system.
STAFF
The required material for resubdividing Lots 4 and 5 has been
submitted to the Planning Commission for consideration at its
February meeting.
There being no objection. Chairman Phares adjourned the meeting to
Executive Session to discuss property acqusition.
